ABOUT THE APPRENTICESHIP

The Logistics team is responsible for the planning, warehousing and transportation of orders to customers both in the UK and around the world. This apprenticeship will enable you to start your career journey in Logistics by initially working in the transportation function of the business. The department is responsible for ensuring that all relevant documents have been completed and issued to allow customer orders to pass through customs and other regulatory checks. The department is also responsible for managing UK transport operations. 

The department works closely with Churchill’s Sales administration team in providing operational updates and transport quotations as required.
Maths is used regularly in this role as the apprentice will measure weights and dimensions and calculate cubic meterage, all of which will form part of your training.

Good communication skills are vital for arranging and advising of collection bookings with freight forwarders and general email communication with other departments.

Qualifications Required:

GCSE Grades A - C (4 or above) in English and Maths

REQUIREMENTS 

Skills Required:

  • Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft office




Personal Qualities:

The Logistics Admin Apprentice will need to be a confident communicator, with both verbal and written communication. They should be passionate with good attention to detail, delivering excellent customer service and support. They should be diligent and organised, with the ability to keep calm and level headed. They should also be a great team player, friendly and professional.

 

 

FUTURE PROSPECTS

On completion of their initial apprenticeship, apprentices may have the opportunity to remain with the business on a permanent contract.
